Like everyone around the world, 2020 produced some challenges for us here at Habitat. It slowed down our build schedule, closed our ReStore for several months, and forced us to make changes in the way we fulfill our mission. However, we are bouncing back! We re-opened our ReStore in June with increased safety protocols, expanded our Critical Home Repair program to help more low-income homeowners in need, and now we’ve started work on two new homes in Freeport called Freeport Woods.
In early 2021 we’ll be able to say “Welcome Home” to two deserving Maine families. They’ll embark on a new journey of homeownership, allowing for safety, stability, generational prosperity, and more. We need your help to build these homes. We hope you’ll join us in making this dream come true.

“Our family will be forever thankful to Habitat for Humanity. The people who work at Habitat and the volunteers have provided a home where we are raising our family and a homebase for us to go out and do good work in the world ourselves. It was obvious that every person we met along the way at Habitat wanted our family to succeed, that kind of support is a rare thing. Also, it is fun to still see the disbelief on the kids’ faces when we tell them we helped build our house!”
