Volunteer to Build Homes

Every Habitat for Humanity home is built by volunteers. This is the backbone of our workforce. We utilize the help of many individuals, as well as agencies, groups, businesses, corporate employees, youth groups, as well as schools. We welcome anyone over the age of 16 who wants to lend a helping hand. No skills required! Our volunteers are supervised by our construction team that teach volunteers the skills they need to know for each phase of the project.

If you are interested in scheduling a volunteer date on the job site, please contact the office at 207-772-2151 or by email at volunteer@habitatme.org. You may also fill out this interest form.

Corporate Build Days

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Portland reserves construction site volunteer dates specifically for companies that are seeking group volunteer opportunities. These groups are invited to bring up to 20 employees to a Habitat construction site where they will spend the day volunteering on a home for a hard-working family in the Greater Portland community. Team members have the opportunity to work side by side with coworkers while they learn home-building skills, get to know each other away from the workplace, and experience, first hand, the feeling of giving back to our community.
