57/27
Together we will
build more homes
and serve more families.
Letter from the New Executive Director
Godfrey Wood
Dear Habitat Partners,
I am honored to be named the new Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Portland.
After serving 15 years as the CEO of the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce, I join Habitat
at a time of exciting opportunityas we grow in support of our mission of eliminating poverty
housing in the Greater Portland area.
Earlier this year we launched our “57/27” Annual Campaign effort. That’s 57 houses that we’ve built
in 27 years! In addition, our voluntary tithing to Habitat for Humanity International has built another 137
houses in different countries. So, our total build has been 194 homes for families in need!
I am excited to let you know that we are currently building the first 3 homes of this 8 unit subdivision on
West Street in Freeport. This important work will continue for the next 2 years as we built out all 8 units.
In addition, we are moving forward with the Town of Scarborough on permits for a 17-unit housing
community in support of their comprehensive plan of providing more affordable housing to their Town.
For those of you, who donated to the “57/27” campaign, thank you! We absolutely couldn’t do our
work without you. Whether you are volunteering or making a donation, your efforts and support are
truly appreciated.
For those of you, who have not donated to the “57/27” campaign, I hope you will consider getting
involved by volunteering and/or donating to our organization. Let’s call it our “194/27” campaign.

Thank you, in advance, for your philanthropic efforts and for the opportunity to lead this organization
during a time of growth as we expand our efforts to serve more families.
Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity
brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. |
