CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

Ryan Carmichael

Ryan’s Habitat journey began volunteering at Habitat sites in Southern Maine during summer breaks in college. After graduating in 2011, he joined Habitat Philadelphia as an AmeriCorps member where every day he saw the positive impact Habitat had on the community. Hooked on the mission, he went on to serve as first an AmeriCorps Member and later as Subdivision Project Coordinator for Kauai Habitat before returning home to Maine in 2015 as a Site Supervisor for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Portland. Since 2015, Ryan has held multiple roles with Habitat including Critical Home Repair Manager (2020-2023) and Construction Manager (2023-present).

CONSTRUCTION SITE SUPERVISOR

Carson Davis

Carson joined Habitat as an AmeriCorp member in early 2021 and helped to manage the volunteer crews on the home build sites. At the end of his 11-month term, he was hired as the full-time Construction Site Supervisor on our home construction team. With over 7 years of carpentry experience, Carson is thrilled to combine his interest and skills in building with his passion for Habitat’s mission.  Prior to this, he worked for Jon Kibler Carpentry and Moderation Brewery. He received a BA in economics from Bennington College, with a focus in community Development.  Carson and his wife live in South Portland.

BUSINESS MANAGER

Dan Dundore

Dan handles finance, operations, and human resource responsibilities at HFHGP.  He earned a Master of Divinity degree from Cornerstone University and has held finance/operations positions at a church, a camp, and a community college before coming to HFHGP in 2022. Dan resides in Lewiston and in his spare time enjoys hiking, running, gardening, and house remodeling.

CRITICAL HOME REPAIR MANAGER

Ryan Hannigan

Ryan Hannigan joined Habitat in 2023 as the Critical Home Repair Site Supervisor after 4 years of running a small remodeling company in Southern Maine. After demonstrating a strong commitment to our mission, Ryan was promoted to the Critical Home Repair Manager role shortly after joining HFHGP. Ryan has worked in several local nonprofit organizations with a focus on direct service as well as programming in the areas of healthy masculinity and violence prevention. Having come from a long history of builders, Ryan has always been drawn to construction, which is what led him to start his own business after spending many years in service-based organizations. Joining the team at Habitat has been a perfect fit as it allows him to provide service and care to his local community through building and repairing homes while forging meaningful connections with our partner families. Ryan prioritizes his spare time for adventures with his wife, Alyx and their dog, Reese. You can also find him snowboarding or mountain biking around Maine’s beautiful trail networks.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Tara Hill

Tara joined the HFHGP in June 2021 as a seasoned Executive Director who is passionate about nonprofit work. She has a strong background in organizational leadership, strategic planning, and coalition building and loves to develop innovative ways to help others.  A native of Connecticut, Tara and her husband live in South Portland and travel as much as possible to Boston and California to visit their three grown children. In her spare time, she is learning to speak Italian, and she loves to read, knit and research genealogy.

DIRECTOR OF FAMILY SERVICES

Molly Lajoie

Molly joined Habitat in 2015 as the Director of Family Services.  She works tirelessly to support all families, whether in new home construction, repairs or aging in place. Molly’s background is in social services.  She is inspired daily by her family and children and always strives to improve herself and serve others. Molly lives in Biddeford, and in her free time, she enjoys running and bicycling.

Critical Home Repair Site Supervisor

Sheldon Lewis

Sheldon joined Habitat for Humanity Greater Portland in the summer of 2023 as a Site Supervisor in the Critical Home Repair program; he comes to Habitat with a background immersed in therapeutic recreation, community building, and volunteer management. As a local Mainer, Sheldon is an adventurer that loves sharing his passion for the outdoors and positive attitude. He is eager to use his skills and passions to serve others in our community!

DIRECTOR OF HOUSING PROGRAMS

Chad Mullin

Chad has been serving with the affiliate since May of 2011. Upon graduating from the University of Maine, he joined the AmeriCorps program, which afforded him the opportunity to serve full-time with Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte, NC. He was hired on as full-time staff with that affiliate and served as a Construction Site Supervisor there from 2008 until he returned to Maine to work with HFHGP in 2011. Chad is a deep believer in the mission of Habitat for Humanity and sees it as an outward expression of his faith in action. He is a husband and a father to four boys.

DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Kate Weidner

Kate Weidner has been the Development Manager at HFHGP since September 2021. Originally from suburban Philadelphia, she worked for nearly 5 years at her hometown Habitat affiliate in various roles, starting as a ReStore Associate and ending as the Communications and Volunteer Manager. Kate’s primary focus is to raise money to support Habitat’s programs, but you’ll also find her assisting with marketing, communications, and volunteer management.

In her spare time, she enjoys agonizing over Philadelphia sports teams, obsessing over her dog and cat, finding a good hoagie roll, and baking treats to palm off on her fiancé and neighbors.

RESTORE MANAGER

Gary Mercier

Gary joined Habitat in January 2017 as a volunteer.  Since then, he has been a part-time and then full-time ReStore Associate, Procurement Coordinator and Assistant Manager. In January of 2022, Gary assumed the role of Restore Manager and has since taken the store to over $1 million in sales. Prior to his retail career, he spent 35 years in the financial services industry. Gary lives in Saco with his wife, and his hobbies include playing guitar, golf and following the Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics.

ASSISTANT RESTORE MANAGER

Alisa Young

Alisa joined Habitat in 2021 as a ReStore Associate and moved into the Assistant Manager position in January 2022. She enjoys spending her days investing in Habitat’s mission!  Alisa calls herself an eclectic and enjoys the tremendous knowledge bank of her coworkers. In her spare time, Alisa is an avid gardener and dog walker with forays into too many things to mention here.

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR & RESTORE ASSOCIATE

April Kalde

April joined Habitat in September of 2021.  They coordinate the volunteers in our ReStore and also work as an Associate, processing donations, working on the register, and helping customers. Prior to the ReStore, they worked at a nursing home and in the Portland School District as a Behavioral Health Professional. They were also an Event Ambassador for Congress Square Park coordinating events.

April is a puzzler at heart. 24/7, 7 days per week their mind is full of jokes and puns, and around the office and store, they are the go-to for all our pun needs. Most of the time they make them purposefully, but other times they just happen – a.k.a. pun-intentional.  They also attend board game groups with friends and work on illustrations for independent media projects. In the winter you’ll find them snuggled up far, far away from the cold with a good puzzle or illustration to work on.

RESTORE ASSOCIATE

Diana Jordan

Diana joined Habitat in 2021 as a part-time ReStore Associate. She joins her colleagues in getting donations ready for sale and helping customers. Diana was born in Belfast, ME and grew up in Westbrook.  She is proud to say that her family has been in the state since 1642! She has a degree in Building Construction and has a passion for restored antique homes and designs of small homes. She says her second passion is human nature.

ReStore Associate

Brennan Mitchell

Brennan joined Habit in the summer of 2023 where he works as a store associate taking in donations and helping customers.  Before working at Habitat, he did field work for an Environmental Lab traveling around New England.  He enjoys outdoor activities like hiking and cycling.  In his free time he rides and works on bicycles and goes on adventures with his rescue dog, Flora.

ReStore Associate

Ivar Moss

Ivar joined Habitat in 2022 as a part-time ReStore Associate. He helps with the intake and refurbishing of donations, pricing and sales. Formerly, Ivar worked in the maritime industry as an OS on several government vessels. He enjoys working on vintage motorcycles and keeping and apartment building in good shape.

DONATION AMBASSADOR

Shane Munson

Shane joined Habitat in 2022 as a Donation Ambassador who picks up donations, interacts with customers, and builds partnerships with other companies to support HFHGP programs. When he is not on the road, you will find him in the ReStore helping his co-workers and volunteers wherever they need assistance. Prior to coming to Habitat, Shane worked in shipping and receiving for a laboratory. He was also the shop steward for B&M Baked Beans and represented the union, working with BG Foods management to resolve any issues that came up. On his days off, he enjoys playing basketball, taking photographs of nature and hiking 4,000 footers in the White Mountains with his rescue dog.

ReStore Associate

Devin Orcutt

Devin joined Habitat in 2022 for a summer job as a ReStore Associate. In the fall, he returned to USM where he is a junior studying mathematics, but he couldn’t stay away.  He’s back full-time and is taking classes in the evenings. Prior to the ReStore, Devin worked at Shaw’s throughout high school. When he can find the time, he enjoys playing video games and basketball.

Donation Ambassador

Scot Parlin

Scot joined Habitat in 2022 as a Donation Ambassador who drives our truck to pick up donations in the Greater Portland area. When he is not on the road, he is performing the duties of an Associate in the store, processing donations and helping customers. Prior to this role, he he worked in many fields including, retail management, food service, road construction, security, and hospitality.

In his spare time, he's busy taking courses in justice studies with the hopes of becoming a lawyer. Scot is also a huge fan of NASCAR and of theater.

At work, he especially enjoys interacting with supporters of Habitat for Humanity - don't be afraid to say "hi" if you see him!
